Solutions for low viscosity of solvent-based SBS adhesives:
Reason:
1. Failure to correctly select the type of SBS;
2. Selection of S/B ratio.
3. The compatibility of line and star SBS is poor.
Influences: Constructive performance constraints
Resolvent:
SBS has two main molecular configurations: star and linear. The molecular weight of star is larger, usually in the range of 150,000-300,000, and the viscosity after dissolution is larger. The molecular weight of linear SBS is smaller, generally in the range of 8-120,000, and the viscosity after dissolution is lower. The molecular weight and its distribution of SBS have a certain influence on the viscosity and bonding strength. Strong dynamic ability and strong wetting power of the glue on the bonded material, but too low molecular weight will make SBS lack sufficient cohesive strength and reduce the bonding strength. Therefore, in the preparation of adhesives, linear or star SBS can be selected according to the need, and the molecular weight is moderate, and the S/B value of SBS is appropriate. In this way, products with high solid content, low viscosity, high cost and poor performance can be avoided. |
